November 1941 (accualy there was fighting there before that, but that's when like real battle started) to Feb 1942. Huge battle for the city of Stalingrad in Russia.

There are a lot of other battles that can be considered bloody... Waterloo, Gettysburg, Borodino, ect. ect. I'm sure Giancarlo can name a lot more.

I don't agree with rakedog which is typical. I would say definitely Kursk.
