Books:
Dan Brown... Da Vinci Code
Why:
Poor writing style, very infantile yet aimed at adults, the second half of the book dragged on forever with hardly a plot other than Dan Brown exposing his great conspiracy, something I already knew 90% of...
A mix of twisted fact and fiction. No real plot and no real writing ability the book just limped along with a stolen plot which just about carried the poor style for the 1st half but once depleted left only a hopeless writer.

Van Helsing
Why:
No plot... and rather than write one and maintain consistency they just used special effects to overcome the need. Culminated by the 'comfortable chair incident' where the heroine (what an ass though) having survived a clash enough to seriously stun the vampire queen by the frankenstein monster is killed by being pushed a bit hard into a comy chair?
