386Kbps is 386 kila-bites per second, which is not the same as 386KBps, which is 386 kila-bytes per second.

a bit is 8 bytes, so you should be downloading at about 50 KBps.

to convert from KBps to Kbps, multiply by 8
to convert from Kbps to KBps, divide by 8

edit- 1 byte is 8 bits

What speeds are you getting? I use azureus, have done for a few years now with no problems, theres a proper tutorial to help you configure it properly aswell.

go to options>speed guide and make sure your port is open. another thing is to check if it says download limited in the bottom of the screen. it it does your upload limit is too low. here is a good guide: http://www.johntp.com/2006/04/19/how...s-of-utorrent/
