Default Best time to buy a pool

My parents are thinking about getting a pool, one of those $400 easy set pool, but when is the best time to get one? Are they a lot more expensive now? Or earlier in the summer? Also, what is the biggest easy-set pool for the best price?
Or what is the cheapest pool that I could do some real swimming in?
Thanks
