best system

Well It would only take a long time to scan if it had alot of files on it anyways, Its 500Gig of space, how much space of that is full?

And Is this the one we have now or the one we have on order that our parents are getting us for christmas that they said "now look suprised when you open the presents"?

I think you should go ahead and list that since you know it's as good as yours on Christmas day. I can't even list what I will be getting since the technology isn't even out yet.

Well this is mine *look down*

Its only the graphics card that needs changing. Maybe a 6800GT or something sometime next year.

lol Well PM me what it is atleast

And Heres What Im getting for Christmas:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Toledo 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor
DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard
XFX PVT70GUDF7 Geforce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
OCZ Performance Series 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory
SAMSUNG 204T-Black 20.1" 16ms LCD Monitor
SAMSUNG Black IDE DVD Burner
NEC Black 1.44MB 3.5" Internal Floppy Drive

And I'm trying to decide if I want to stick with this:
Western Digital 160GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive or upgrade to a bigger this:

HITACHI Deskstar 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
The hard drive isnt on order yet.

It's not exactly as good as Feircepcs.. I want the bigger processor but thats 300 bucks more, And If I get the bigger hard drive thats even more money.

Edit: Not to mention I'm looking into liquid cooling which will be even more money, *Doesn't even know where to look for liquid cooling stuff*

Paradox, your PC will be great  :D

I doubt you'll need a better processor with all those specs. I'd just go for the bigger hard drive, though if you fill it, it means you've got alot more backup to do incase it fails...

I dont know If i'll ever even need 500Gb, I just got an 80 Gb in this old pc of my parents and It feels like alot.. lol I might get 2 250s or something If I need alot

That monitor is excellent. You will be pleased to have that. Super crisp and clear. I have the 152T model (15" from the "15"2T). I would use SATA instead of the old IDE. 500GB is such overkill though. I would get one close to 200GB at the most (save some money for your parents or whoever's giving it to you for Christmas). If cost is an issue, try lowering the X2 to a 4400+ Toledo X2 to go with the 7800GT. If you don't care, then keep the 4800+ and upgrade to a 7800GTX.
