Avatar size changed?

Did the size of the avatar change from 65 pixels to 100 pixels recently? I just created my new avatar going off of 65 pixels because for some reason I thought that is what size it was supposed to be. Now when I went and loaded it, I noticed it could be 100 x 100. Is this new or did I get the 65 from some other site?
