Damn it was fast, and amazing the witness something surpass TWICE the speed of sound
IMO the F-18 is far better. If we are talking just about bombing missions, then I'd agree with the F-111 being better. But overall the F-18 is so much better just because it can be used for so many things. (and is pretty good at all of them )

But I'd sure love to visit Australia one day, but I have so many countries I want to visit.

I've been to australia i think it was 2 summers ago. Everyone was nice and it's just like America because the cities there aren't ancient like London or any city in Europe so it's like america in that sense too. Some of the peoples accent were so thick we couldn't understand what they were saying but we understood most of what was being said.

no to put a damper on things but I just wanted to point out that i really dont think it was going 2x speed of sound...
that would create a sonic boom...
and as far as I know that can break things (glass and other things) as well as permenently damage your hearing...

but planes in general are amazing...
ive taken 2 flight lessons (basic little prop planes but still)

IMO im still a huge fan of the F-14... for those of you that dont know planes its the one Tom Cruise flys in Topgun lol

also: I live near willow grove navel base and I ahve gone to there air show almost every year since i can remember and ive been privileged enough to see the blue angels and thunderbirds multiple times each...simply AMAZING...flying at 500+ MPH only like 6-9 feet apart....

The Aussie accent?, it's almost the same as the American accent, although theres a little diffrent stuff here and there. And besides, movies and shows make our accent sound really stupid , it isn't that way.

"fly at more than twice the speed of sound with its wings tucked back."

sorry I didnt mean it cant...i just meant i dont think it was when it was flying over your head...thats all...many planes can do 2x speed of sound...then there are planes like the SR-71 which is a ultra high altitude survalence plane that can do 3x...lol

I knew that, in spite of the doubters, see my post about living near a USAF base.

Hah, "ancient like London" of course everything is ancient to somebody from Texas, lol, sure we have ancient buildings there, Buckingham Palace was built in 1702, what were the Americans doing then?, plenty of others even older, but over the last 5 - 10 years many amazing buildings took shape, we have a very long heritage, & we are very proud of it!
