Finally my bill is $145 which is much better. As a result I got a new modem and my phone went from statewide to national. Since my old bill was $131 the increase was only $14 instead of that $24+$40 and more increases.
That's a good idea but they'll sock me with installation fees.

Tell them you'll switch if installation is free. The call is recorded so if they bill you anyway and refuse to refund, use the FCC site to file a complaint. They'll have it investigated and refunded with an apology letter in about 8 weeks. I've done it twice now.
