Have you heard of this? You would; as for me, you are almost a day ahead of us!
Australia has started a massive infrastructure roll-out that aims to eventually connect 90% of homes down under to a fiber-optic network. The plan has drawn the interest of other countries, USA included, due to the sheer scale of the work. Best of luck, mates!
Engineers will lay cable across 7.7 million square kilometres (3 million square miles) of often challenging terrain which covers an area equivalent to two European Unions. ůSpecialised French digging machines have been shipped to Tasmania to lay the first of millions of kilometres of fibre-optic cable. By next June, three pilot towns are expected to be enjoying connection speeds of 100 megabits per second.
