I don't know much about it, but I'd agree with the things that berry said. It seems that you've made an effort to talk to a wide variety of people across the city.

well I'm lost never heard anybody come up to me in town and say, what's your statistics.. ? Or is it because I'm from UK

Lol no, I'm from the UK too!

He's not asking people for their statistics, he's asking people to fill in a general questionnaire that could be about anything for all we're concerned. It's the process of analysing that data that's called statistics, and obtaining a representative sample for your questionnaire is considered extremely important if you want your results to be meaningful.
