yes. intel/ati makes sense since most intel chipsets only support crossfire. amd/nvidia makes sense because nvidia is not getting support from intel.

wow, if amd/ati really do become one, it would be a major blow to nvidia.

I hate ATI - everything should be compatible with everything, and someone should invent a socket adapter..

Socket 754 to S478 adapter, I would love it! I could get SLI then - no SLI boards out there for S478 - dont see why.

Socket adapters like that are not simple. 754 and 478 are COMPLETLY different. This isnt like the old slot keys.
