how do you set the d3100 to keep the shutter open for 8secs.
Thank you everyone
) To keep the shutter open for 8 secs. On the dial where you choose the mode you shoot on. On the top, there is a group of 4 letters right above "Guide" P S A M. I always shoot on S, which means shutter priority. To change the shutter speed on S, There is a small Dial that is looking out of the camera from the back. You can turn it left and right, to make it go faster and slower. It goes all the way down to 30secs, and all the way up 1/4000. Is this what you were asking? ( if you know where the (AE-L AF-L) is, it is right next to it. (not on the screen, but on the camera its self).
