In England there are quite a number of unmanned crossings, I know it's not viable for Amtrack or whoever, to have the thousands of them in the States converted to manned, but British Rail should be made to pay & have no unmanned crossings no matter what the cost, there are a few hundred not thousands, we are always hearing of someone getting injured or killed in this way

almost all crossings in the states have the bars lower, if that is what you mean by manned.
