Default 2.5TB expected this year?

http://www.tomshardware.com/news/TDK...tter,8417.html

Quite interesting, I'd say. They even mention that they'll do 3.2TB HDDs soon...out of 5 platters.

Also...this SSD is 1TB...mmm

Just not fun to see the price...

Interesting - but I do think the capacity / research into these traditional drives is tailing off somewhat. SSDs are taking over - over the next few years I think they'll start to push the conventional drives out the door more and more.

For now though, bigger capacities are good as far as I'm concerned!

It'll be fun to laugh at the people a few years from now when the prices go way down on them.

I had a friend that thought he just had to have ddr3 right when it came out and he payed $600 for 4gb.. Good stuff.

Well, There is 2TB allready, so I dont see 2.5TB as a HUGE leap. Allthough it's still impressive!

you guys is nutz?!

i use a 250GB in my laptop, and overall its not even half full

i have one problem with SSDs, they're extremely expensive compared to SATAs.

hopefully when they get more common, they'll be as cheap as regular hard disks.

They are SATA drives. SATA is the interface used.

More like "when they stop putting a limit on how many times you can write to the drive". From what I've heard, they won't last too long if you have an O/S on it, but that could be hear-say I guess.

Well, I personally wouldn't get that. Too much space to fill, and imagine i you lose all that data? That and the risk of bad sectors?

I reckon with enough money in my steam account i could fill that a nice percentage quite quickly, it's software and big new games which have hit my HDD hardest so far
