i just had an idea to do with the spam that seems to pop up alot, the accounts are created same-day probably using some automated technology or another.
perhaps if a 24-hour 'probation' period were introduced between registering and being able to make forum posts would help?

The only problem with that is when you get impatient people like me who want help now, they'll get fed up with waiting and try a different forum.

I think the spambot would be okay with waiting 24 hours tbh. A lot of spam accounts are actually created months in advance.
