Mods

I reckon it is awesome without him. The intelligence level has raised 6 notches.

we have jobs and lives of our own.. we cant be online 24/7..

That's the exact point I am trying to make. I guess since you are not on during my prime time often ..say 4pm to 8pm AUS time you can't understand as much the point I am making. During those times there are literally no mods on for up to 4 or 5 hours cept for the odd time when a mod from a diff timezone is on like Thellis early in the morning for example. It's not a dig at the current mods whatsoever.

I've said it before if David doesn't want more full mods make some global moderators that can only delete threads.

I really don't know what they base the moderation on but this way you can get more people in that can delete spam but you don't have issue's with them banning people. Think of it as say temp to hire. If they do good maybe promote them to full mod and let them move threads etc.

I do agree that there are some mods that should be replaced simply do to inactivity. Why have a moderator that is hardly ever on the forum.
couldn't agree more.

I check my emails first thing when I wake up, all five of them, and rarely is there more than two reported posts, and even more rare are those posts not taken care of. Don't get me wrong, some of you are great at helping us keep an eye out by reporting and/or PM'ing us but I can't say that I've seen anything from a few of you recently.
I understand what you are saying but for a forum that is predominantly the younger teenage generation 2 porn posts per day unmoderated for a couple hours could be robbing the forum of potential new members....something this site desperately needs.

new mods wont do any bad. they will either keep the forum the same, or better. seems like a win win situation to me

I'm sorry, but it has to be said:

  • 99nasha: Last posted on April 26th, last active June 11th.
  • Slayer: Last posted on April 9th, keeps his last active date hidden.
  • G35x: Last posted on March 29th, last active May 1st.

Those three probably should be let go. There's plenty of equally responsible people here who are a shitload more active who would happily take the jobs, even back when I was a mod (February 2007) those three were about as active as corpses. Nothing has changed and they're taking up three mod slots for people who would really love to have the chance to help make a difference around here. Let's face it, this forum really has 8 mods and not 11.

My vote is for those three to be booted and four new ones appointed to give us 12 again. 11 is a duff number in my opinion.

Yes, mods do have a life outside of the forum like Mark said, they are human beings and do other things but come on, they do have a job to do and if they're not doing it they should make way for someone who will. I remember while I was banned I saw a discussion about swapping the mod team around, and those who the community said were inactive magically reappeared and had a flurry of activity for a week to make it look like they were actually worth keeping on the team then disappeared again. It's amazing how people will react when their power is under threat.

yes, thats a good point at least give some people the chance who are on this site more often, people get jobs and move out (probably like them) im sure they want to but are to bust to mod everyday so its better to leave some positions to people who want them.

well IMO as stated i think the current mods do a great job, but i do agree inactive mods are 1 a waste of mod spaces and 2 a threat to security its an incactive account so could be hacked

You guys have brought up some good points. I brought this up in staff so we can go over things in a little more detail there.
