How to stop auto-subscription?

I need to keep a valid e-mail on my settings apparently but every thread i responde to auto subscribes me and i get flooded with e-mails. I looked but can't find how to disable this under my account or under settings.

Change "Default Thread Subscription Mode:" to "Do Not Subscribe"

Oh damn, i just did this today and was ready to give instructions but iPwn did it before me. I was having my e-mail full of notifications about new replies on threads and it got annoying and i decided to find the option to disable it.
