Ok what normally happens as shown in the uptime log is every so often, mysql crashes and then restarts. Today it crashed in the middle of someone posting which caused it to corrupt and was down untill I repair it.

do you have seperate DB's for users\posts?

I was posting as it crashed. Because i selected ok and it said db error.

A lot of times, you can tell how long CF was down for by looking at the last post time that's on the home page and the latest reply after that. I manage to reach the main page of computerforums and notice that the last reply was around 6:30pm and it was down all the way into the early morning at 3:09am. So that's a good 9 hours + it was down. I was already asleep at the time so it only seemed like 5 hours to me.

That's what I usually do, especially if it goes down just as I'm off to bed.

That just comes from the host. It can't just crash and corrupt itself.
