W2k Data Retrieval

Hi, I was running a w2k server with 2 ide drives running dependently. The OS drive has died a death and needs to be rebuilt

The data drive is fine but inaccessible. Does anyone know how i can retrieve this data and save to a new server?

I have tried running the drives separetely and together on other machines and no joy

Bart PE works i can see the relevant folders but have no access 2 them and cannot move them.

Fairly important company data is the reason for this post

Data Retrieval

It sounds like you had the two drives running in a RAID array. If that was the case did you have them mirrored or simply stripped?

If you are familiar with Linux at all you could try a Live distro like Knoppix. It should recognise your drives and you may be able to get the data off. I've never acutally tried it with a broken array.

Also depending on what kind of controller you were using you may be able to stick another blank hard drive in the server and have it rebuild the array.
