It's really easy with Ubuntu Server

While doing the install, just say the server is a webserver when the option pops up. It's that simple.

Ubuntu is a fairly good operating system for a *nix based webserver.

I have a CentOS5 server and an Ubuntu 7.10 server

I know this thread is a few days old, but another thing to keep in mind is if you want this website to be public, you'll need to register the domain name somewhere and point dns towards your public ip address provided from your IP service. It's easier to work with if your public ip address is static, but if it's dynamic then you can use a program like dynamic dns or something to make the public dns server change dynamically.
