Has anyone come across this error?
I just installed Server 2003 R2 Standard 64 bit on a new server. Once the OS was installed I joined it to the Domain, installed all the Windows updates, and added the Domain Controller role. But whenever I try to install any software I get the error message: Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. I am logged on as Domain Admin. Thanks for any help, Will |

got the same problem with my new x64 IBM machine when I was trying to install patches. As a quick fix, I found that there is "UNBLOCK" button when you right click on the executable file, which will allow you to install the application.

Sahabcse,
Interesting because mine is a IBM, 3650 64 bit. I didn't right click it and go to properties though, I will have to check that. Will |
