Default How do you find the name of a server?

I have recently downloaded an app on my iPad Mini to find the activity on my families server, and I was getting it set up and I had it set up and then I pressed "enter" and it said that it hadn't worked. So, I thought that I would ask the wonderful users of Computer Forums how to find the name of the server. And don't worry eventually I will stop asking questions and giving answers (as in as soon as I go to B & N).

Download an IP scanner like overlook fing or angry IP scanner. There is also an app for fing.
