i dont know anything about servers so how do u exactly set up a home server

well if its already running an operating system like windows XP you could just enable filesharing and then share the folders over the network

yea. i wouldnt get too advanced unless you know how to/need to.
filesharing on xp is perfectly fine.

I found a great guide for setting up a home web server on DSL/Cable, I'm going to do it with a Dell I have once the new mobo shows up
