Default Re: Easiest Home File Server OS?

Just a quick search came up with this. Mac OS X: How to connect to Windows File Sharing (SMB)

I think I had my Macbook setup to connect to my XP server years ago. I haven't had my Macbook for years though so I don't know if it was straightforward or not.

This, this and this.

FreeNas is quite simply, the bollocks. I have it as my nas and my ftp server for my friends. I also use it in my business. It is ridiculously easy to configure (all done through a browser too!). This gets my vote.
