TrueCrypt error

I installed True-Crypt last night and followed all instructions without problem. However, when I restarted my computer - it crashed and I lost the program. I don't know what happened and how to prevent this next time I install the program. Ideas?

im not shure if you can install the full file on a usb or external device? and just unplug it when shutting down? im not shure this problem didnt occur to me.
