Hey all, I'm using a friends wifi and even though I'm not worried about her looking or even caring about what I do on the net.....a few people in her household scare me LoL. What kind of FREE encryption or something like there of would be a good idea for me? and how would I check to see if what ever it is will actually work?. I have windows 7 with IE 9 if that info helps.....or even needed. If its not obvious (I'm sure it is) I'm a dits to this type of stuff so try not to bruise up my green horns too much LoL.....any advice is appreciated!

Are you worried about the scary people getting your personal/credit card information and ripping you off or do you just not want them to know how much porn you look at? If it's the first reason, then although there is plenty of personal firewall and encryption software out there, you may want to just play it safe and spring for your own internet access. Besides, running a personal firewall or encryption software will probably cause your PC to run more slowly...

Yeah its the porn!!! LoL, but nope it's just because of certain hobbies I have and certain pics I look at and I don't want them to see because even though it is perfectly legal...I don't want them knowing I study death and other things of that nature because as I have learned in the past...people get abit freaky about it. |

Using Google Chrome allows you to open 'incognito' windows which allows you to browse securely, without history, cookies, caching or any other evidence being left behind once the window is closed

I would recommend using a VPN service to encrypt your internet connection.

VPN would encrypt your whole Internet traffic and all of your Internet applications will route traffic via the connection all programs will use a virtual network interface, which protects all programs that access Internet on your computer.
