Ps2...Why didnt anyone think of this before?

ok, i downloaded ulaunchELF.iso and burned it to a cd... i put it in my ps2 in an attempt to format my memorycard (didnt work) but what striked me as really cool, is that the cd i just BURNED, actually was read as an official ps2 disc, it did the playsation 2 word thing boot at the beggining even. ttheres obviosly somthing in their that my backups could use, due to my pc not being stron enough to use ePSXe. would someone a little better at this stuff please take a look into why its read as an official ps2 disc, and how i could burn that little bit of data to my backups? (i would obviously have to re-burn them)
