Vista Home Service Pack 2

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium and I just downloaded Service Pack 1, which actually solved the issue of my comp reading only 3.25 GB of ram when there is actually 4. It now reads it at exactly...

Re: I have 4GB ram, why is it showing 3.25?

I definitely don't have the money right now, but when I do, you think it's worth it? I just think it sucks that I paid for 4 GB of ram and I can only use 3 and a quarter.

Re: I have 4GB ram, why is it showing 3.25?

If I can't upgrade to 64-bit 7 from Vista 32-bit, then is my only option to buy a full version of windows 7?

Or do you guys think I should just stick with Vista?

Re: I have 4GB ram, why is it showing 3.25?

For sure, thanks.

edit: If I did buy the upgrade, would I still be able to do a clean install?

Re: I have 4GB ram, why is it showing 3.25?

So I might as well get Windows 7, but should I get the upgrade or full edition? What's the difference?

Re: I have 4GB ram, why is it showing 3.25?

Wow really? It is 32 bit, but why does that matter? So putting 64 bit will solve it?

I have 4GB ram, why is it showing 3.25?

I have 2 sticks of 2gb a-data ram, but windows is telling me I have 3.25. I just upgraded to vista from xp, but xp told me the same thing, I just assumed the upgrade would fix it.

Re: New build is having issues with operating system

Ok, thanks. Also, would it be better to upgrade to vista first and then upgrade to seven from there? Also, my comp still doesn't read the upgrade. It loads the disc, but the install screen just...

Re: New build is having issues with operating system

I'm not at home right now, but I will definitely try that. Also, a little update, I put my old dvd drive in and took out the new one, fixed some of the issues. Now, windows loads up like it should, I...

Re: New build is having issues with operating system

Can't even do that now. So now when I try booting from disc, it loads up windows files on that blue screen, but then when it gets to the final step of loading up the setup for installation, it...

Re: New build is having issues with operating system

Thanks, but like I said, now Windows XP won't even install. I reformatted and now it just freezes when it gets to the final step of loading up the files for installation.

Re: Which DVD burner should I get?

Well that's what I was thinking, but it's only a six dollar difference and they are both rated very highly. The only real difference I can see is that the LITE-ON one has lightscribe support, but I...

Re: Review My Build

Sounds good man, I just bought the StealthXStream for 20 bucks, was just too good to be true. But are you serious about playing CS Source with the on board video? It's that legit?
