Re: Deep cleaning computer

This is definitely the best way. You should keep the documentation open just in case, since it may be intimidating for new users.

Also keep in mind that it takes quite some time, and it can be...

Re: updated computer specs for which one I should buy?

Asking someone else to put together a computer based on your budget is just as inefficient as buying some random desktop computer on Amazon.

If you really want to get as much as you can for your...

Re: migrating RF7.5 from HDD to SSD

It's hard to tell, but since you only changed your drive there is not much room for error. This may be a special case, but usually most applications will check your motherboard for changes, not the...

Re: E3 2019.

I honestly don't really follow game news, so I don't know what can be reasonably expected from the industry. Dark souls 4 would be nice though [emoji14]

Re: How to make a custom USB cable for a Finis Neptune MP3 player?

You would need schematics of the circuits used to charge the battery. Also knowledge of how USB cables transfer energy. Why are you so sure you'd need to modify a USB cable and not something else?

Re: Printer settings

What's the process through which you go every time you print? Where exactly are you trying to change the default settings?

Re: Password issue

The intentions of the OP were unclear and continuing with the thread was pointless.

Do you have a specific question?

Re: Creating a gmail account without entering a phone number?

That's not really true. Maybe you have an old account, but when creating one (from a web browser at least) you are asked for a phone number and cannot skip it.

Re: Questions about "write/erase cycles" on a flash drive (USB Stick)

What do you mean by rearrange? As far as I know, wear leveling works by writing on blocks that have been used the least in the past, and that's why the more you use it the messier the real...

Re: Canít find Linux hard drive on windows OS

Probably has to do with filesystems. Mint should use ext4 by default, and Windows doesn't have any ext4 drivers, although they can be installed. You should probably look into that.

Re: Questions about "write/erase cycles" on a flash drive (USB Stick)

Yes, it can be recovered, unless you put new files on top of them. Actually deleting a file is slow, so the file manager won't do it.

About the space conundrum: when you "delete" a file, the file...

Re: Creating a gmail account without entering a phone number?

The way I understand it is that you can do the opposite. You can't create Google accounts on a computer without providing a phone number. When you do it on a smartphone, you do.

Re: Does anyone know how to copy an https:// website successfully?

Re: Questions about "write/erase cycles" on a flash drive (USB Stick)

Erasing something should not be a problem. Flash storage uses cells with a limited amount of erases that you can do. This means you can empty the electrical charge of a cell a limited number of...

Re: Cisco Xfinity DPC3941T be Netgear

Re: two OS, one computer

Try this: https://www.tenforums.com/installation-upgrade/20482-windows-10-xp-dual-boot-best-way.html

If you can't do that maybe you could look into installing GRUB and using it to dual-boot.

Re: two OS, one computer

Then the best way is to install it again. You could also dual-boot, as long as you don't need to run both OSs simultaneously. If you don't, running a VM is a waste of resources.
