Re: Laptop overheating

I don't know if posting on older threads is generally allowed here, but I have a quick update.

I updated the OS to Windows 7 64-bit (previous being Windows Vista 32-bit). Things are running a bit...

Re: Laptop overheating

So here's what happened. I took apart the entire thing, and blew out all the dust with some compressed air (Supplied through a gentle air compressor I have, so as to not knock any of the parts...

Re: Laptop overheating

A day or two after I bought it and last Tuesday. Compressed air on the exhaust vents and a vacuum on the fan.

Re: Laptop overheating

Honestly, no idea how to use perfmon. I grabbed some data with Game Booster and SpeedFan (Core Temp doesn't go as in-depth for temp readings)

Re: Laptop overheating

Gotcha.

And my bedroom is in the basement, so it is relatively cool. It's also a mostly dust free environment (severe dust allergies, air purifiers and bi weekly dustings)

The laptops were...

Re: Laptop overheating

UPDATE: So it would seem that this particular model of laptop is prone to this issue. It only has a single fan and a single exhaust vent. I believe most of the problem is coming from the GPU, which...

Re: Laptop overheating

I don't see any mention of fan settings or Cool and Quiet in BIOS. Core Temp is giving me a different reading than Speedfan. Currently, I'm at 55c idling, 70c watching the same YouTube video, under...

Re: Laptop overheating

On a desk, with one of those laptop cooling pads, I hit 94c. Fan is spinning, but the heat coming out the exhaust vent is quite warm.

I vacuumed out the fan and shot some compressed air to loosen...

Re: Laptop overheating

I was watching a YouTube video, with the power settings on "Balanced". I switched to "Power saver" and it runs cooler, but not as fast.

I believe the processor was bouncing between the 30-40%...

Exclamation Laptop overheating

Hey there, computer forums people,

So I have an issue. I just bought myself an HP G60-117us (used, because being 16 I don't really have tons of money). It's been working fine, but I noticed on day...
