Re: lhuser now has a Youtube channel, and it's all computing!

That capture card is a definite must for any physical machines to be reviewed. Meanwhile, it'll have to do. As for all OS reviews, I've switched to a screen recorder and VMWare. Getting it to run on...

Re: HDD SMART: What happen when i read or write from the Pending sector?

To be honest, I'd run the manufacturer's diagnostics for your hard drive. This could fix it, but may not as well. A full format probably won't do much, but there is a program that I use called HDAT2,...

Re: My car... 444444...

My '06 Focus is at 302000 KM so far. I'm getting there, but nice pic man. Is that a Volvo or Mercedes? I'm not too good to distinguish a car from its cluster sometimes...(and of course, I'll be wrong...

Re: Trump! Trump! Trump! Trump!

Well the Trump Towers is a joke of course, but the rest, I'm dead serious. If he escaped taxes for so long, all he has to do is to pass a law for the country (in his favor as well) to make his action...

Re: Trump! Trump! Trump! Trump!

To me, the worst thing that could happen would be an invasion to other countries to slam Trump Towers everywhere. Problem with presidency and owning a series of businesses could lead to a conflict of...

Re: "Vintage" early 2000s Alienware M5500 Upgrade Help! :)

If you're going to use it for 90s to mid 2000s, don't change anything. The specs are good enough to run them.

Re: Should I.......

Turning it off/on all the time causes wear to the bearings in the hard drive motor. Now, will that be a direct impact? Well, no, if you do it once a day (Night time to morning). Cuts your electricity...

Re: Unexpected Find

Reminds me of the podcasts we used to do. How many did we do? Like 3 or 4?

These videos were an effort to get tips and tricks to the users. I believe it was an effort from Thelis, but don't quote...

Re: fitting a motherboard

eBay! Best way to have a replacement board.

However, it does not boot as in nothing on the screen? If you have text on the screen, there's a chance that the board is fine.

Re: CPU Overhating!

Check your pump. and try to flush out that radiator out too. if you see your pump not working properly, that pump is shot. Rebuilding it yourself is possible, but not guaranteed.

Re: Yellow Line On Screen

Try another monitor, but if you have a flat screen, I'm pointing towards the LCD has a fault. If it goes away, good, but if it doesn't then that's fine, providing you'd be willing to cope with that.

Re: Bottleneck

Indeed, and to add my two cents, the CPU won't bottleneck the card. The GPU is an older generation but its a pretty dam good card. I have one and I'm not afraid to throw anything at it.

Re: New Win 8 computer to Win XP question

I really recommend against putting XP, since the end of support date is right around the corner. However, if you put a 500GB HDD over that 1TB, it will be fine. Just make sure you're not smashing...
