Re: Installing Windows Xp To a iMac

Not that I'm aware of. You'd need to purchase a license and disc, however doing so with windows XP is going to be a good search.

Re: SSD > I finally made the jump

Good deal! I'll definitely be ordering more of where that came from.

Re: X1300 256 PCI-E FOR CS:SOURCE Running LOW FPS

What brand/model laptop is it? It may be hybrid graphics. The 7150 is an integrated chipset style GPU (energy saving) and when you fire a game up it most likely swaps over to the 630M. Seeing as...

Re: PCI-E Adapter vs. Extender?

Yep no problem. I'll have to do some searching then... I can't imagine there'd be any negative effects on performance? But I could be wrong. I imagine it's basically a direct pin-for-pin connection....

Re: PCI-E Adapter vs. Extender?

Ah, I see. I just haven't ever heard of extending a PCI-E slot, maybe somebody else will chime in here in a few. Sorry I couldn't help more!

Re: Reformat??

Good deal, I'm sure you won't have any major issues. It's a pretty straight forward process.

Re: Softmodding origional Xbox?

This seems like a rather legit how-to guide.

Re: Need To UPGRADE Video Card, Dont know where to start!

I posted in your other CSS thread, so if you're referring to CSS at med/high settings this won't have any issues as I posted there.

Re: PCI-E Adapter vs. Extender?

Do you have a picture? "extending" your PCI-E slot seems like it'd be more trouble than it's worth versus getting a new CPU cooler.

Re: Opinions on Approx. $1000 Gaming Rig

I'd personally go for 4670k between the two, good chunk of money saved there for not a massive performance increase.

Yea that SSD should be fine. It's more-so how many GB worth of programs do you...

Re: SSD > I finally made the jump

I think you're the first person I've seen that's said no improvement... My virus scans, defrags, boot times and copying files nearly doubled in speed.

Re: Reformat??

Custom will be fine for what you want. Using third party programs to format makes that data un-recoverable by other third party programs. IE, you're selling the computer and don't want somebody to be...

Re: Reformat??

Yea, that'll be fine for what you're trying to do. Unless you're trying to completely destroy data, you don't need to use a third party piece of software for formatting.

Re: Opinions on Approx. $1000 Gaming Rig

To answer your first question... That isn't a terribly large jump, but a notable one.

Something relatively affordable would be $64 shipped from newegg.

Re: Deciding Between 2 Monitors

I'm no monitor guru, so maybe others have more enlightened input. However the contrast ratio defined is essentially how true your monitor can display black. You'll notice on projectors or similar...

Re: X1300 256 PCI-E FOR CS:SOURCE Running LOW FPS

Other specs are in my signature. My main desktop will run CSS maxed out and pegged at 100+fps, no problems. The Asus UL50 with G210 mobile will run CSS maxed out at around 50-70FPS and the HP NC6400...

Re: X1300 256 PCI-E FOR CS:SOURCE Running LOW FPS

Woops, my fault . I have an HP laptop with Mobility X1300, was thinking of that for some reason. Desktop X1300 should perform pretty decently, my mobility can't really play CSS very well.

Re: What can I remove from my Notebook

Another little "optimization", if you want to call it that, trick is to change what programs load upon boot. Start>run>msconfig.exe>startup tab. Probably has tons of programs there that really don't...

Re: X1300 256 PCI-E FOR CS:SOURCE Running LOW FPS

Hmm, well those are pretty acceptable framerates (at least to me) for a mobility X1300. Some of those older cards can't keep up with the higher resolution, my guess is you're running 1368x768 or...
