Y2K Problem - Need Programmer

I am in need of someone who has knowledge of very old computer program language. I am not sure which, but it was written around 1987 for a vending machine I own. The problem is a Y2k related problem and it causes my machines not to reset automatically if the electricity is turned off. I have to manually reset the date and time and therefore a lot of downtime for my machines. I changed the RTC chip to a Y2K compliant chip, but this did not fix the problem. I was told that the problem is probably in the ROM of the program. (I am not a computer person, so I do not know exactly what this is) I was told that the ROM would have to be re-written to correct the problem with my machine. Is there anyone that is willing to tackle such a problem or can lead me in the right direction to correct this problem. The machine I own is an obsolete BIO-weigher scale built around 1986-1988 I believe.

Thanks,

The chances are this is simply a problem with only 2 date bits being set,

If you have the original source code, it's possible that someone here can help you...

If you do have the original source code, then you have two options, You can either just post it here...

or you can see what language it is in and post the language here asking interested people to send you a private message...

Assuming that either, nobody here wants to help, or nobody here wants to help for free, you could get somebody to do it on a paid basis, I suggest you try the site www.rentacoder.com as they have an embedded software section, (and so I assume embedded software coders are out there...

Depended on the language, I'll have a look for you, but you need to be aware that re-writting the ROM of a chip will require specialist equipment. You also need to be aware that this may be too specialist for most people, (including myself) and you may require some more professional help. (in this case try the original vendor for the machine).
