Default Where to start

I want to learn to program but where does one start? I have mastered HTML and almost CSS but I think those are more web based languages. Can anyone give me some advice on where to start or on some past experiences?
Thanks
The frog

Visual Basic is a pretty easy language to learn.

yeah there are many similar post, but most people dont want to inconvience themselves by digging through old threads lol, its just quicker, easier, and one gets more specific results and advise to their specific problem or question by posting up new threads..just my two cents

I would start off now with java since you already know how to program with HTML you already have a grasp of programming. I learned a bit of python but that's almost the same as C++.

Hey dude what is your problem? You came out of the gate giving these guys a hard time. And the smart remark made to computergen was totally uncalled for. Do that again and you won't like what happens next.
