Default Versions of java??

Hi guys anyone like to enlighten me as to what the difference between Java and Java2 is?

yes since thats what the most ppl will be using, its the same language as JAva just with a few minor modifications and some added bells and whistles

If you want to use Java - the best idea is to learn J# - that's what Java Programmers will be using in a few more Years

the newest version of java is around 1.5, last time i checked.
there is a huge difference between 1.5 and the earlier versions, but java is mostly backwards-compatible, so most things you write in earlier versions can be compiled with 1.5
