Default Universal remote

i was wondering if there is a program that allows me to use my infrared
device (usb-irda) as a universal remote mainly to annoy lecturers and workers

since you posted in computer programming, I'll tell you that IR ports are normally ergistered as serial ports in the device manager, ad register with a com name (COM:4?)
you can use visual basic and the IR port as you would a regular serial port connection

i think u misunderstood me i meant a program that allows me to use my infrared transciever AS a remote not to program a remote

admitidly the other results on te first page were not too relevant...

but refining the search terms doers bring back a few more results...

I remember my old Palm VII, with that universal remote (and code search function).
I used to have more fun with that! But alas....the PDA is gone
