I'm thinking of probably developing a simple game via the UDK. Only problems is that I have zero coding knowledge. For other assets such as models and animations, I'd probably have someone else do those.
My question is, how hard is it to learn the scripting language for the UDK? Is only basic C++ knowledge needed, or would it be slightly more advanced than just basic knowledge of C++ and programming in general? |

Try taking a look through the tutorials on 3DBuzz.com, they have a lot of Unreal stuff on there.

Thanks I will do that then. I tend to become discouraged because I can't wrap my head around coding so I wasn't sure how involved scripting with the UDK is. I was originally planning on sticking with level design/mapping but I might want to attempt some scripting.

No worries. Remember, start small and don't bite off more than you can chew, otherwise it tends to make you feel demoralised. And most of all, have fun

Yeah I have a habit of doing that, either thinking too far ahead or taking on more than I can handle and I become overwhelmed as a result.
