Default Running 3DMark Vantage

Does the quad core make that big of a difference

My friend uses a q6700 overclocked to 3ghz.
I run a E8400.

Our CPU scores are 29464 and 5895 respectively. Is this difference normal

Should be because if I'm not mistaken the test stresses cores. So the more you have the higher your score.
