Default programs for games question

Are there any programs out there that make it so your computer does not run any programs in the background while playing a game?

I think he means things running like virus scanners and what not. If your using windows the 3 finger salute will help you alot (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) If i'm not mistaken you only need systray and explorer running in the background then load your game and it should run better
