I would like to know how to code in PHP to put a hit counter on my web page.

I am looking for a step by step how to.
I can find them but a lot of them just go step by step but do not tell you what everything is doing.
Can someon help???

You've already asked that question here, and were directed to a perfectly decent tutorial explaining how to make one! What don't you understand about it?
