Default With java..

So i just started learning java using one of my brothers old dummies books

This book is OLD.. Java is only at version 1.1 in it. Is java the same for programming or has it been completely revamped? Should i get a new book with version 6(?) in it, or use this one! Help!

I ask alot of questions. A +Rep is in order for all those who can put up with them.

Yes, Java is a fun language. I've been learning it for about 5 months and I really like it as well. It lets you be creative and free. But you also have to have alot of knowledge about it. If you guys have any good online tutorials or anything I'm pretty sure "jon the noob" would be interested in reading as well as I would.
