Default Hmm

I've been trying to make a password via htaccess and htpasswd. For some reason, when I go to those sites that convert for you, it never works, and my password is for some reason, always incorrect.

1. Any reason why?
2. Any kind of program that can convert the random characters back into the password to see if I'm doing it right?

I don't know of any program that can do this, but if you look in the bin file in the apache installation directory there is a compiled file that can make the passwords for you.
