font text help

I am using this code

It works great it put a black bar around my text.

One thing if I want to make the Bar not go the whole width of the screen I know I ad a width code.

But how like this?

or how do I ad it in??

About your problem. Are you ending the paragraph with </p>? I don't see why the background would extend the width of the screen.
