I am using this code
<p style="background:black;color:white;font-family:Times New Roman, Arial;font-size:20px">

It works great it put a black bar around my text.

One thing if I want to make the Bar not go the whole width of the screen I know I ad a width code.

But how like this?

<p style="background:black;color:white;width;"75"px:f ont-family:Times New Roman, Arial;font-size:20px">

or how do I ad it in??

About your problem. Are you ending the paragraph with </p>? I don't see why the background would extend the width of the screen.
