My favourite language is C++ (CLI and ANSI)due to the fact it is an all round language that can do everything.
This is closely followed by C# because it is a lot easier to use and has a lot of newer technologies integrated into it

I use Delphi 7 , haven't done much yet with it though. Just learnt how to do basic stuff and naigate through it's interface! I would like to learn C++ though. So does C++ have more potential then Java? Plus are all those programming langauges compatible with all Operating Systems or do they all work best on a certain OS?

I am a big fan of C for when I have to design a program that involves any sort of mathematical calculations. It is also a pretty good language to learn because JAVA and C++ are both based off of it, so you get a base that should make your life easier when you are trying to learn more object oriented languages. Python is also a good language to start with but I am not sure its the bet for when you are really trying to write some code.

I'd say Java for me, but I haven't really used C++ or C. The syntax in Java is pretty easy
