Default C++/c#

I know there is a post already up about this but I have a slightly different question regarding it. I'm on the track for A+, MCP, Security+, Network+ etc. But would it be in my best interest to start to learn C along the way? I've done some minor programming but I would consider myself a programming teacher's nightmare. So just wondering what you guys think. Introduce myself now? Or wait till later on after a few certifications?
