Default Best languages for math programming

I am new to programming and was just wondering what languages would best be suited for me to write my own math programs (a language similar to a TI calculator would be nice because I can already program quite well with calculators.) Perhaps some math related programming tutorials would be nice.

hey you should probably learn basic first... its a good transition from TI programming. then after you learn basic you can step up to more powerful languages. i did that exactly: i learned TI then BASIC then moved up to java and c++. also i think basic includes most of the math operations you will need
