Hmm...

Python is a good starting language, very easy to learn and yet useful at the same time.

C++ is actually the language people say is the hardest, and definitely not for beginners, but it was the first one I learned and I didn't really have that much trouble, its up to how dedicated you are.

If you want to learn the basics I would go with Ruby. Though it is limited it is also very good for beginners.

If your into 3D programing, Google Sketchup uses Ruby.

XNA actually uses C#, which makes it pretty easy to use.

Though, it's probably best go get a grasp of languages in general before diving into large libraries.

Depends on what you want to achieve. I've been developing a web for over 2 years now, and have used several languages in all the projects. If I was to start today I'd recommend to you to start with PHP for server side development.
