I'd get the Pro 2. Actually thinking about it myself. But yes, over an iPad - as it can function much like a regular laptop.

I'd take either over an iPad. The pro version is definutely hugely superior. As far as RT vs iPad, that would probably come down to personal preference. The iPad is much better if you just want a toy to play with, or need specific applications that wouldn't be available on windows RT. The surface is better for more serious use. (Or so I've been told by someone who has both.)
