My experience of Sony Vaio support is that it is nonexistent. 6 emails over 26 days have gone unanswered:

As a result Vista will only work on the most basic level, automatically switching off Aero. I am still very concerned about the performance report that Vista produces. Even though my own tests using 3rd party diagnostic software also recorded a score in the bottom 3% of its class, the laptop was returned from Sony with a report that no hardware problems could be found. To avoid typing out all the details again, I have attached the original letter.' |

I think it would be better to give them a call in person instead of email. Guaranteed support that way. If the laptop is still under warranty, have them issue you a new replacement. Sounds like a hardware problem.

Yeah, Sony seem to be having their fair share of bad publicity over this kind of thing. For instance, over PS3's and other Sony products like TV's.

The situation gets worse and worse!!! It's now been well over a month!
Last email sent:... I have now even called for support on 21/11/07 but have still not had an adviser call me as of end of business day 26/11/07. To be fair I had asked to speak to a specific operator who helped me last time, but they did say I would get a callback today. Does Sony provide any customer support any more? ----- Original Message ----- From: p@j.com To: support@vaio-link.com Subject: Fw: Case# 2631176 Date: Wed, 21 Nov 2007 14:29:08 +0000 What a shambles! :-0 Contact me please. ----- Original Message ----- From: p@j.com To: support@vaio-link.com Subject: Fw: Case# 2631176 Date: Thu, 15 Nov 2007 06:56:43 +0000 http://www.computerforums.org/showth...684#post708684 <My experience of Sony Vaio support is that it is nonexistent. 6 emails over 26 days have gone unanswered> ----- Original Message ----- From: p@j.com To: support@vaio-link.com Subject: Fw: Case# 2631176 Date: Thu, 15 Nov 2007 06:30:31 +0000 Could somebody provide some customer support please. Phone support is almost always better then email support. I've actually had great experiences with Sony's Vaio support. Very fast and helpful.
Not sure how it's now though. |

Your customer service is utterly pathetic. I still haven't had a callback despite calling twice, being promised Monday, then 'definately Tuesday'. I want my money back. You are clearly too incompetent to provide even a basic level of customer service. No response in 6 weeks.

I just finally had a phone call back from Sony. They have informed me that the model I bought, that was widely advertised as being Vista premium ready, was later discovered to not be so, and the lady admitted that it had been incorrectly advertised by Sony.
She said that other people had previously been told about this and had been 'offered solutions' but she was unable to refund / compensate because she is 'part of Sony's aftersales service'!!! The main reason I bought a new Vaio was so I could fully run Vista. Now I realise I've wasted >£700 due to their false advertising and there seems to be no comeback. |
