college laptops????

hey im new to the computer world (just stepped outta mainstream) and im looking for a good powerful laptop for some pretty serious gaming (replacing xbox 360) along with good performance for school as i am going to be a engineering major.

The 2 that i am looking into is:
1. The Gateway FX p-7807
2. The HP hdx 16-1370

I notice they both have 1g dedicated graphics but they are different models... one uses a nVidia 9800gts and the other a nVidia gt130m which is better for my requirements? will it be awhile before it is left in the dust by the constantly evolving computer world?

Get the one with the GT130M.

i heard that the 9800 had more power than the other though

actually your right, the 9800gts is more powerful and has faster core speed and memory speed too i think, which i didn't realize until i looked it up. The GT130M is about equivalent to the 9500GT for desktops. You probably would get more out of the 9800gts then. sorry about that

i went with the hp and i dont regret it... this thing is sexy and i love the finger print reader
